Shadow and Bone Manicure

I just started reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, which is already very good and I’m only about 50 pages in! I’m heading to a Fierce Reads signing later in June, and Leigh is going to be there! I’m really excited for it. Anyways, I thought the cover of this book was really pretty, and so I decided to do a manicure based on the cover! It didn’t turn out quite as nice as I had hoped, but oh well, I still like it. So, without further ado, the manicure! *sound the trumpets*

Twenty Boy Summer: Manicure

I went away to my friend’s cottage this weekend, and we’re just packing up to leave as I type this. I tried my hardest to get posts lined up for while I was going to be away, and I did manage to schedule two! I don’t want to leave you all hanging without a post for today, so I figured I would show all of you my nails and how I did them for the weekend.

Currently I’m reading Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler, and it has a really pretty heart made of sea glass on the cover. I didn’t have too much time, so I was only able to do a simple blue polish and top it off with a glitter coat – something that reminded me a little bit of sea glass. The polishes I used are all Julep, the blue is Claire, the glitter coat is Paris, and I finished it all off with a coat of Julep’s Freedom Polymer Top Coat. Have a look and tell me what you think!20130603-124450.jpg

Current Nails and Current Read

I thought I would squeeze a quick nail update post in during this busy busy week! So here it is, short and sweet.

This morning I painted my nails with Julep Alice polish, and used Recollections microbeads in Heather to create a caviar manicure! This is the first time I’ve done a caviar manicure, and I’m quite pleased with how it turned out!

Also, in the back of the picture you can see that I’m reading Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. I’m about a third of the way into it, and it’s quite good! It really grabs you. Anyways, more about the book to come later!!!

I will be back to the blogging world on Monday, so until then, ta ta! :)
